Based in Alderley Park and The Heath in Runcorn, Cryoniss provides a comprehensive storage service for biological samples from ambient, +4°C, -20°C, -80°C, and vapour phase liquid nitrogen.
It is vital that Cryoniss ensure the safety, quality, and integrity of the samples they store on behalf of their clients. To achieve this, Cryoniss required a monitoring solution that not only recorded temperature data but also had back-up systems and safeguards in place to provide peace of mind to both the team at Cryoniss and their clients.
The Contronics team worked closely with Cryoniss to design and install a system that was user-friendly, future proof and ensure Cryoniss would comply with regulatory requirements and guidelines such as GXP’ Data Integrity Guidance and Definitions and fully compliant to FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
The Qualification protocol included performing an intensive IQ/OQ to ensure the system worked perfectly.
Flexibility was important for Cryoniss; therefore, we recommended our ProLog Wireless Monitoring System due to it being easy to relocate, its resilience against data loss and rapid implementation timeframe.
The ProLog Wireless Monitoring System allows the Cryoniss team to login remotely through our secure ProLog portal and receive alarms via text messages and emails whenever our loggers detect an excursion.
Commenting on the project, Philip Hargreaves, Chief Operating Officer & Co-Founder of Cryoniss, said; “From UKAS calibrated probes to dual monitoring systems, Cryoniss is dependant on the Contronics system. For us, there are not any sleepless nights or worrying weekends wondering if our freezers are OK – our on-call team will simply receive a message or email should there be an issue. Alternatively, if one of us is just curious as to how everything is going, we can sign into the system remotely. The wireless system allows us to be flexible with our freezer locations without the issue of physical network data ports and the easy user configuration permits us to customise our alarm points, escalation procedures and many more settings, making the system work exactly how we need it to.
“As for the Contronics team themselves, from the initial contact to today, they have always been very helpful and responsive with excellent customer service. The engineers that installed our system were polite, friendly, and worked around us as we were bringing additional aspects of our lab online. They even took the time to take me through the entire system to ensure I had a good understanding and could use it with confidence.
